About the Photographer

I was first introduced to photography (as it differs from taking snapshots) by a college roommate (a professional photographer and Pentax representative).  As a result, my first SLR camera was the venerable Pentax Spotmatic.  Most of my early work was in black and white, and of course, I had my own darkroom.

Like many photographers, I have no formal training, but learned from books, talking with other photographers, and lots and lots of trial and error. While my “day job” has been video game design and development, photography has always been a creative outlet.  My graphics programming background has taught me well what makes a technically good image.  With the advent of digital SLR cameras, I have finally been able to fully leverage my technical skills with my love of photography.

I live in Nevada City, California with my wife Margie, and our crazy Weimaraner, Bogie.
